PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new lactic acid bacterial strain having excellent handleability of exhibiting no aggregation property etc., and physiological actions similar to those of Lactobacillus brevis FERM BP-4693 strain and suitable for producing a food and drink or a medicine, to provide a food and drink and a fermented food and drink comprising the lactic acid bacterial strain, and to provide a method for producing the fermented food and drink using the lactic acid bacterial strain.

SOLUTION: The lactic acid bacterial strain has a specific base sequence in the 5-terminal to the 490th region of a 16S rDNA and an intrinsic base sequence in the 911st to the 1410th region and belongs to Lactobacillus brevis which is Lactobacillus brevis FERM AP-21222 strain. The method for producing the fermented food and drink has a step of carrying out fermentation using the lactic acid bacterial strain. The food and drink contains the lactic acid bacterial strain. The fermented food and drink is obtained by carrying out the fermentation using the lactic acid bacterial strain.
