PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pulse wave measuring instrument accurately measuring the pulsation of a duct with a simple structure.SOLUTION: The pulse wave measuring instrument detects pulsation by being allowed to abut on a pulse part 6, which is positioned in the upper layer of the blood vessel 5 and is the front surface of a measurement object 4, in order to detect the pulsation of the blood vessel 5 positioned in the measurement object 4. A plate-like distortion gauge 1 is abutted onto the pulse part 6 via an elastic body 3 which has an elastic modulus being equal to or less than the elastic modulus of the measurement object 4 at the position of the pulse part 6 and is thicker than a distance from the pulse part 6 to the blood vessel 5.
