The present invention relates to a mat for protecting a lawn and, more specifically, to a mat for protecting a lawn which includes a mat body formed to be positioned higher than a portion where a lawn is planted to secure a growing space of the lawn and prevent a weight from being transferred to a growing point of the lawn even when stepping on a mat to protect the lawn, has a sinking prevention structure, and allows the mat body to be easily bent in accordance with curvature changes of the terrain. The mat for protecting a lawn comprises: a mat body having horizontal frames and vertical frames formed in a grid shape to form a plurality of through holes； a lower support protrusion protruding from a lower portion of the mat body to be inserted into soil； and an upper support protrusion protruding from an upper portion of the mat body to separate the feet of a pedestrian from the mat body.
