A funnel trap type device or system made of braid is described for capture and retrieval of an inferior vena cava (IVC) filter or other medical device, or alternatively for capture and subsequent release. Delivery and / or collection devices, kits containing them, methods of use, and manufacturing methods are all contemplated. The exemplary embodiments described herein meet this need and / or other needs, particularly with respect to dealing with any complex experience during filter collection.
