The composition comprises (a) a drug component that includes a therapeutically effective amount of the drug and (b) a crosslinked polyacrylic acid polymer that is a carbomer homopolymer, carbomer copolymer, carbomer interpolymer, polycarbophil, or a mixture thereof.
