PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that a raw material having a low specific gravity is sucked together with air when ventilation is carried out by sucking air in a rotary barrel.SOLUTION: A heat treatment apparatus includes first means made up of a rotary barrel for accommodating therein a raw material to be dried, driving means for the rotary barrel, heating means for heating an outer periphery of the rotary barrel, a frame disposed inside the rotary barrel in order to stir the raw material, and suction means for sucking air in the rotary barrel.
