Disclosed herein are an ultrasonic imaging apparatus which is capable of providing intuitive ultrasonic images and a control method which is implementable by using the apparatus. According to an exemplary embodiment, there is provided an ultrasonic imaging apparatus including: a flexible probe having a planar shape, which is configured to emit ultrasonic waves toward an object, and to receive an ultrasonic echo reflected from the subject an image processor which is configured to trace an operators eyeline from an image acquired by photographing the operator, and to process a three-dimensional (3D) volume data acquired from the ultrasonic echo based on the traced operators eyeline, thereby generating an ultrasonic image and a flexible display having a planar shape, which is disposed on one side of the flexible probe, and which is configured to display the ultrasonic image.Linvention concerne un appareil dimagerie ultrasonore qui est capable de fournir des images ultrasonores intuitives et un procédé de contrôle qui est réalisable en utilisant lappareil.
