The present invention provides a chrysanthemum indicum leaf extract for inhibiting protein tyrosine phosphatase 1B (PTP1B) and a composition including the same for preventing or treating metabolic diseases. According to the present invention, the chrysanthemum indicum leaf extract has PTP1B inhibitor activities and the composition including the chrysanthemum indicum leaf extract has excellent effects in preventing adipopexia, reducing blood sugar, and preventing and treating diabetes so as to be useful as an agent for preventing or treating metabolic diseases. Moreover, the composition according to the present invention is appropriate for oral administration so as to have high bio-availability when being used as an agent for preventing and treating metabolic diseases through PTP1B inhibiting functions, and is made from a natural material so that side effects including toxicity can be reduced compared to PTP1B inhibitor compounds which are produced through synthesis.본 발명에서는 단백질 타이로신 탈인산화효소 1B (PTP1B) 저해용 감국잎 추출물 및 이를 포함하는 대사성 질환의 예방 또는 치료용 조성물이 제공된다. 본 발명에 따른 감국잎 추출물은 PTP1B 저해제 활성을 가지고, 감국잎 추출물을 포함하는 조성물은 지방축적방지, 혈당강하, 당뇨병 예방과 치료 효과가 우수하므로 대사상 질환의 예방 또는 치료제로서 유용하게 사용될 수 있다. 또한 본 발명에 따른 조성물은 경구 투여에 적합하여 PTP1B 저해 작용을 통한 대사성 질환의 예방 및 치료제로 사용될 때 생체이용률이 높을 뿐만 아니라, 천연물을 소재로 하였으므로 합성을 통해 제조된 PTP1B 저해제 화합물에 비하여 독성 등의 부작용이 적다.
