This framed soap composition comprises the following components (A), (B), (C), and (D), wherein the proportion by mass ((B)/((A)+(B))) of the components (A) and (B) in terms of contents as acids is from 0.04 to 0.6 inclusive. (A) 10-50 mass% of a C8-22 fatty acid or a sodium salt thereof. (B) 1-25 mass% of an alkyl ether carboxylic acid or a salt thereof represented by general formula (1) (in the formula, R1 represents a C4-22 alkyl group, n represents a number from 0 to 20, and M represents a hydrogen atom, an alkali metal, an alkaline-earth metal, an ammonium, or an organic ammonium), wherein the average carbon number of R1 is from 10.8 to 12.8, and the alkyl ether carboxylic acid or salt thereof contains more than 9.6 mass% to 27 mass% or less of a component where n=0 and 21 mass% or more to less than 40 mass%, in total, of a component where n=1 and a component where n=2. (C) 0.1-10 mass% of a salt other than said components (A) and (B). (D) Water.
