The system has an intraocular lens (14) having a peripheral part (24) and a central part (22) of negative power. A positive power lens (16) is placed in a spectacle frame. The lenses are adapted to produce a magnified image of an object in fundus of eye (4) and the lens (14) produces a shadow image of the object of size lying between 20 and 50 micrometer in the fundus for pupil (8) with diameter of 1.5 millimeter. An independent claim is also included for a determination method by optimization of retinal image magnification system.
