Installation making it possible to produce, continuously, clods of predetermined dimensions from a growing substrate, as well as their packaging into boat-shaped containers. It comprises: - an assembly 1 making it possible to produce a layer of the growing substrate with a thickness and a density which are predetermined; - an assembly 2 making it possible: . to cut up the subtrate layer 8 into regular clods; . and to move the clods thus formed above a transporter assembly on which the empty boat-shaped containers are arranged; . and to transfer the said clods from this assembly 2 into the boat-shaped containers which, after filling are transferred to a removal station. <IMAGE>
