ABSTRACT Embodiments herein provide a method for detecting a skin type of a subject. The method includes receiving one or more input images including of a skin portion and a non-skin portion of the subject. Further, the method includes determining a color ratio of the skin portion over the non-skin portion from the one or more images and at least one parameter associated with the subject.
