A smart glass and a method of operating the smart glass are disclosed. The smart glass photographs the walking direction of a user, measures a distance from an object in the walking direction, generates a spatial image of the walking direction based on the photographed image and the measured distance, converts the spatial image into a high-contrast image using a plurality of unit graphics in order to allow the user to recognize, and outputs the same onto two lenses. The smart glass includes an image photographing part, a distance measuring part, an image processing part, and a display part.사용자의 보행 방향을 촬영하고, 보행 방향에 존재하는 대상과의 거리를 측정하고, 촬영된 영상과 측정된 거리에 기초하여 보행 방향에 대한 공간 영상을 생성하고, 공간 영상을 사용자가 인지할 수 있도록 복수의 단위 도형을 이용한 고대비 영상으로 변환하여 두 개의 렌즈 상에 출력하는 스마트 글래스 및 스마트 글래스의 동작 방법이 개시된다.
