PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To considerably reduce animal collision on a railroad without requiring excessive cost.SOLUTION: An animal repelling apparatus 1A, which is set beside a railroad and outputs a repelling sound, which an animal to be repelled dislikes, at a predetermined timing to prevent the animal from entering the railroad, includes: a train detection part 2A which detects the presence of a train an acoustic signal generation part 4 which generates an acoustic signal of the repelling sound a repelling sound output part 5A which converts the generated acoustic signal to a sound wave by speakers 70a, 70b to output the sound wave and a control part 3A which detects the approach of a train from a detection signal by the train detection part 2A to make the acoustic signal generation part 4 generate an acoustic signal.
