The present invention relates to a composition for a bone grafting material having enhanced gel stability and strength, and to a preparation method thereof and, more specifically, to a composition for a bone grafting material comprising gel-forming powder, a calcium phosphate compound or a demineralized bone matrix, and bone morphogenic protein to a preparation method thereof and to a kit comprising the composition. The composition for a bone grafting material of the present invention can be rapidly and conveniently planted in a bone-defect part as gel is formed in moisture, and does not spread by blood when applied to a human body, thereby having stability with respect to a human body, processability, and excellent strength.
