The present invention addresses the problem of providing: an agent for suppressing the progression of Alzheimer-type dementia； and a method for suppressing the progression of Alzheimer-type dementia. According to the present invention, it is possible to effectively prevent or treat Alzheimer-type dementia by starting administration of a pharmaceutical composition containing 1-(3-(2-(1-benzothiophen-5-yl)ethoxy)propyl)azetidin-3-ol or a salt thereof as an active ingredient to a patient within a certain period of time after that patient has been clinically diagnosed with Alzheimer-type dementia.La présente invention aborde le problème consistant à fournir : un agent pour supprimer la progression de la démence de type Alzheimer ； et un procédé pour supprimer la progression de la démence de type Alzheimer. Selon la présente invention, il est possible de prévenir ou de traiter efficacement la démence de type Alzheimer par le démarrage de l'administration d'une composition pharmaceutique contenant du 1-(3-(2-(1-benzothiophén-5-yl)éthoxy)propyl)azétidin-3-ol ou un sel de celui-ci en tant que principe actif à un patient dans une certaine période de temps après que le patient a été cliniquement diagnostiqué comme souffrant de démence de type Alzheimer.本発明の課題は、アルツハイマー型認知症の進行を抑制する薬剤およびアルツハイマー型認知症の進行を抑制する方法を提供することである。１－（３－（２－（１－ベンゾチオフェン－５－イル）エトキシ）プロピル）アゼチジン－３－オールまたはその塩を有効成分として含有する医薬組成物を、アルツハイマー型認知症の臨床診断時から一定期間以内の患者に投与開始することにより、アルツハイマー型認知症を効果的に予防または治療できる。
