An apparatus for forming a lighting image on, or from, a living wall comprises a structure (54, Fig. 5) arranged to support one or more plants, the lighting image visible by a viewer looking at the living wall. The apparatus comprises a plurality of electrical connectors 42 configured to connect to a plurality of illumination elements 46. The plurality of electrical connectors 42 is configured to enable emission of light from the plurality of illumination elements 46 in a direction away from the back of the living wall to form the lighting image.
