The present invention provides compounds of formula (I), wherein R1-R3, n, and W have any of the values defined herein, and salts thereof. This compound has good solubility and is useful in the treatment of bacterial infections. The present invention also provides a method for treating a bacterial infection in a mammal comprising administering to the mammal an effective amount of a compound of formula I, or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof. The present invention also provides a composition comprising a compound of formula I, or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof, and a pharmaceutically acceptable vehicle.
