The present invention relates to a device (1) for extracting silage (20), comprising a transport container (10) arranged on at least one extension arm (30) or lifting structure of a transport/support vehicle (3), said transport container (10) having a receiving region (100) for silage (20) by means of which the silage (20) can be extracted from a silo (2) in an extraction region (200). The device according to the invention is characterised in that the transport container (10) comprises a lower opening (104) reaching to the two side walls (101a, 101b) laterally bounding the receiving region (100) and reaching to the back wall (102) bounding the receiving region (100) at the rear and reaching to front wall (103) bounding the receiving region at the front, by means of which opening the transport container (10) is placed over the silage (20) and loaded up, wherein the receiving region (100) formed by the side walls (101a, 101b), the back wall ( 102) and the front wall (103) can be closed at the lower opening (104) by means of a force-driven removal plate (11) that can be horizontally displaced in the direction of the back wall (102), and, with the movement of the removal plate (11) towards the back wall, the silage (20) loaded within the receiving region (100) can be separated from the silage (21) present in the silo (2) under the receiving region (100).
