PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve weight reduction and high sensitivity while securing required hardness in a fishing rod which includes an integrally configured rear grip part.SOLUTION: In a fishing rod which includes a hollow rear grip rod body 21 in which a rear grip part 41 is integrally formed by enlarging a diameter of a prescribed-length area at a rear end side, a wall thickness of a main layer continuously formed over the total length of the rear grip rod body 21 is thinner in the rear end part than the front end part. The rear grip rod body 21 includes: a small diameter part 40 which constitutes the prescribed-length area from the front end part of the rear grip rod body 21, and occupies half or more of the length of the rear grip rod body 21； and the rear grip part 41 which is positioned at the rear side of the small diameter part 40. The rear grip part 41 includes: an enlarged diameter part 44 whose inclination is sharper than that of the small diameter part 40 and in which the inner diameter is enlarged to the rear side； and a large diameter part 45 which constitutes an area from the rear end part of the enlarged diameter part 44 to the rear end of the rear grip rod body 21.
