Provided is the use of a therapeutically effective amount of placental stem cells in the manufacture of a medicament for treating an individual having scleroderma, mycosis fungoides, or inflammatory bowel disease, wherein said placental stem cells are (i) CD10+, CD34-, CD105+, and CD200+, or (ii) CD200+ and HLA-G+, or (iii) CD73+, CD105+, and CD200+, or (iv) CD200+ and Oct-4+, and wherein said placental stem cells do not comprise human totipotent stem cells.
