A comfortable and close-fitting paper diaper comprises a hydrophilic surface layer and a waterproof bottom layer (1). A water-absorbing cotton core layer (2) is provided between the hydrophilic surface layer and the waterproof bottom layer (1). Elastic waistlines (3) are assembled at longitudinal ends of the paper diaper and directly adhered to a back face of the waterproof bottom layer (1). Because the elastic waistlines (3) are assembled on the back face, the horizontal width of each elastic waistline (3) can be made wide enough without constraints of installation of the adhesive tape.
