Provided is an implantable mesh comprising demineralized bone fibers mechanically entangled in a biodegradable or permanent implantable mesh. A method of making an implantable mesh is also provided. The method for making the implantable mesh include a step for mechanically entangling the demineralized bone fibers with non-bone fibers to form an implantable mesh. The mechanical entanglement of the bone fibers with the implantable mesh is achieved by needle punching, spun lacing, entanglement by jet or jet flow, and ultrasonic entanglement using ultrasonic waves with visible needles.
