摘要:
The present invention describes the use of the method of quantifying disulfide bond disruption by ellman's reagent in keratinized materials such as animal hoof, human nail, animal or human hair and skin by indirectly quantifying free thiol groups. The adaptation of the method provides an innovative application in the safety and efficacy evaluation of cosmetic products. Quantifying these groups can provide important information, such as whether the hair is more or less damaged, the use of certain cosmetic products on the nail can damage the membrane (breakage) or if any formulation can restore the stratum corneum, nails or hair. In this case, quantification of these groups can evaluate the safety and efficacy of different cosmetic formulations, chemicals and substances that can contribute to the repair of nails, skin and hair. It will also be important to evaluate whether any product may favor bond breakage due to any specific function, as observed in hair straightening products, thus helping to determine the effectiveness of hair straighteners or their safety within the limits breakage established. Moreover, changes caused by substances that break the nail and skin bonds can be evaluated to promote drug permeation in these membranes, applied in order to improve drug permeation and assist in the treatment of some diseases, such as mycosis and onychomycosis. In this case, the methodology can be used to estimate the effectiveness of nail topical pharmaceutical formulations. It is a simple and inexpensive method capable of providing valuable information about the condition of hair, nails and skin. It can be used in the development of new cosmetic, hair and topical dermatological pharmaceuticals. In this case, quantification of the thiol groups may be done on the untreated material and after treatment as new products and / or with products already marketed. Moreover, it is possible to measure whether the concentration of a given product or the application time are respon
