PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cultivation container beneficially usable for a cultivation method which combines water culture and soil culture, especially a cultivation container preventing by an easy structure, culture soil held in a cultivation bed from dropping off to a water retaining tank placed below a cultivation bed, and formed so as to efficiently extend roots of plants cultivated in a cultivation bed to a water retaining tank.SOLUTION: This cultivation container is such that through-holes 20 are set on a bottom wall part 16 of a cultivation bed 12, and a water-absorbing sheet 32 is arranged all over the bottom wall part 16 of the cultivation bed 12 so as to cover the through-holes 20, and on the other hand, an absorbing/root-extending member 34 which absorbs water held in a water retaining tank 14 into the water absorbing sheet 32 and promotes extension of roots is hung into the water retaining tank 14 through the through-holes 20, and a gap d is set between the water-absorbing/root-extending member 34 and an inside 21 of the through-hole.COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT【課題】 水耕栽培と土壌栽培とを組み合わせた栽培方法に有利に用いられる栽培容器を提供することにあり、特に、簡易な構造で、栽培ベッドに収容される培養土を、栽培ベッドの下方に配置される保水槽に落下させず、しかも、栽培ベッドで栽培される植物の根を効果的に保水槽内に伸長させることが可能な構造の栽培容器を提供すること。【解決手段】 栽培ベッド12の底壁部16に貫通孔20を設け、その貫通孔20を覆うように、栽培ベッド12の底壁部16の全面に亘って、吸水性シート32を配置する一方、保水槽14内に収容された水を吸水性シート32に吸い上げ、根の伸長を促進させる吸上げ・根伸長部材34を、貫通孔20を通じて保水槽14内に垂下すると共に、水吸上げ部材34と貫通孔の内面21との間に、間隙dを設けるようにした。【選択図】 図1
