PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device and a method which allow proper display of a photoacoustic image for assisting diagnosis by an ultrasonic image while curtailing decrease of diagnostic performance.SOLUTION: In an image display method, a photoacoustic image of an area corresponding to an area of interest is displayed by displaying an ultrasonic image through transmission/reception of ultrasonic waves to a subject, setting an area of a part of the ultrasonic image as the area of interest while displaying the ultrasonic image, setting light emitting conditions including a light amount of emitting light to the subject and a repetition frequency according to the area of interest and receiving photoacoustic waves generated by light emittance to the subject under the light emitting conditions.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1COPYRIGHT: (C)2018,JPO&INPIT【課題】 本発明は、診断能の低下を抑制しつつ、超音波画像による診断を補助するための光音響画像を適切に表示することのできる装置または方法を提供することを目的とする。【解決手段】 本発明に係る画像表示方法は、被検体に対する超音波の送受信により、超音波画像を表示し、超音波画像を表示している間に、超音波画像の一部の領域を関心領域として設定し、関心領域に応じて、被検体への照射光の光量及び繰り返し周波数を含む光照射条件を設定し、光照射条件での被検体への光照射により発生する光音響波を受信することにより、関心領域に対応する領域の光音響画像を表示する。【選択図】 図1
