PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hair dressing agent having jointly excellent usability and a treatment effect.SOLUTION: This emulsion type hair dressing agent contains following components (A) to (E): (A) candelilla wax (B) a volatile hydrocarbon (C) an ester of 12-22C straight-chain fatty acid (D) straight-chain methylpolysiloxane represented by formula (1) (n is an integer of 10-3,000) and (E) a carboxyvinyl polymer and/or alkyl-modified carboxyvinyl polymer.
