A round baler (10) is equipped with an ejection ramp (30) which operates such that it moves from a raised home position to a lowered ejection position, only after a discharge gate (22) has moved to a raised discharge position, and moves back to a home position prior to the gate (22) moving back to its lowered baling position. A hydraulic circuit (40) for actuating a pair of gate cylinders (26), (28) and a single ramp cylinder (36) incorporates a pair of relief valves (64), (66) located between a selective control valve (50) and first chambers of gate and ramp cylinders (26), (28), (36) so as to cause the correct sequence and timing of the movements of the discharge gate (22) and the ejection ramp (30).
