PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide novel polysaccharide derivatives of EPO, the derivatives being useful for improving the stability, pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics of EPO, and to provide methods for producing such the derivatives.SOLUTION: The present invention relates to a novel compound which is a novel polysaccharide derivative of EPO or an EPO like protein, wherein the polysaccharide is anionic and comprises 2-200 saccharide units.
