A surgical cryoablation system comprising a valve having a valve inlet and a valve outlet the valve inlet connectable to a source of cryogenic fluid at a pressure of greater than 4000psi and the valve outlet connectable to a cryoablation probe, such that the valve outlet is in fluid communication with the cryoprobe such that the source of cryogenic fluid is in fluid communication with the valve inlet.
