A method for producing a microneedle device which comprises a coating on microneedles. This method for producing a microneedle device comprises: a step A wherein a freeze-dried composition is obtained by drying a precursor composition that contains a biologically active substance and a first solvent; a step B wherein a coating composition is obtained by mixing the freeze-dried composition and a second solvent with each other; and a step C wherein the coating composition is applied to the microneedles and then dried.
