PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide granular cocoa excellent in instant solubility and holding the flavor characteristic of cocoa powder, and its efficient preparing means.SOLUTION: Water vapor is introduced into the conditions where raw material powder at least including sugar is stirred in a container, next, cocoa powder is charged, and the raw material powder and the cocoa powder are stirred and contacted to granulate them, thus granular cocoa is obtained. The total weight ratio of teh introduction water vapor to the total weight of the raw material powder is preferably 0.5 to 10%.
