PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique capable of efficiently suppressing a bacterial group which causes quality deterioration of a food material such as edible chicken, and pathogenic microorganisms as a cause of food poisoning, and free from producing harmful substances.
SOLUTION: A method for suppressing microorganisms in a food material includes an ultrasonic treatment process of irradiating an aqueous solution where the food material is soaked with an ultrasonic wave, and an ozone-containing microbubble treatment process of soaking the food material after the ultrasonic treatment process in an aqueous solution where ozone-containing microbubbles are produced.
