Systems, apparatuses, and methods for delivery of an active agent in response to the changes in electrical activity of a subjects lower esophageal sphincter. Changes in electrical activity can be monitored by a monitoring unit containing a microprocessor. A reservoir and pump can be used to store and release the active agent. The active agent can be cholecystokinin, peptide YY, glucagon-like peptide 1 or 2, and ghrelin, or a combination thereof.
