The invention relates to a device (1) for magnetic stimulation of body regions (R), comprising at least one magnetic coil (2) connected to a stimulator (3), which has a power element (4) for generating electrical impulses (I) to be applied to the at least one magnetic coil (2), so that the generated magnetic field (H) can be induced in the body region (R), wherein a detection unit (5) is provided for detecting metal elements (6) within the body region (R). In order to prevent an induction of currents in implants or similar within the treated body region (R), a measuring device (8) is provided for detecting the electrical power (P) received by the magnetic coil (2) and a comparison device (9) is provided for comparing the power (P) with a predetermined limit value (Pmax), the detection unit (5) is connected to the stimulator (3), and the comparison unit (9) is designed to automatically switch off the stimulator (3) or reduce the power of the stimulator (3) or of the power element (4) of the stimulator (3) in the event of the predetermined limit value (Pmax) being exceeded.
