The invention relates to an endoprosthesis component (17) and to a method for producing an endoprosthesis component (17). The endoprosthesis component (17) comprises a body (23) predefining the shape of the endoprosthesis component (17). On surface portions (22) with which the endoprosthesis component in the implanted state is in contact with human tissue, the body (23) is covered with an outer layer (25) which comprises a nitride, an oxynitride or an oxide based on a refractory metal and which contains silver and/or copper. According to the invention, an intermediate layer (24) is arranged between the outer layer (25) and the body (23) in such a way that parts of the intermediate layer (24) are accessible from the outside. The endoprosthesis component (17) is produced by the method according to the invention.
