The present invention refers to the use of recombinant and synthetic peptides based on primary sequences of human defensins such as antibiotic agents. These peptide molecules may be chemically or genetically synthesized by the recombinant DNA technique. The peptides of the present invention known as hBD-con, hBD11, pEThBD2, pEThBD2KLK, pQEhBD3, pQEhBD3M and pQEhBD3D2 (SEQ ID NO: 1, SEQ ID NO: 2, SEQ ID NO: 3, SEQ ID NO: 4, SEQ ID NO: 5, SEQ ID NO: 6, and SEQ ID NO: 7). The invention comprises the use of these peptides as an antibiotic for the control of bacterial infections including Mycobacterium tuberculosis, multi-drug resistant, and also referring to the pharmaceutical compositions comprising said peptides and optionally combined with other commercial antibiotics.La presente invención se refiere al uso de péptidos antibióticos recombinantes y sintéticos con base en secuencias primarias de defensinas humanas como agentes antibióticos. Estas moléculas peptídicas pueden ser sintetizadas químicamente o genéticamente mediante la técnica del ADN recombinante.
