Method and system for generating laser pulses The invention inter alia relates to a method of generating laser pulses having a predefined amplitude, phase and/or polarization at a distal end of an optical transmission system, which comprises at least one optical fiber, the method comprising the steps of: generating laser pulses and inputting the laser pulses into a pulse shaper calculating a control signal for controlling the pulse shaper, wherein at least one physical parameter of the optical fiber is taken into account applying the control signal to the pulse shaper and modulating the amplitude, phase and/or polarization of the laser pulses whereby modulated laser pulses are formed and inputting the modulated laser pulses into a proximal end of the optical transmission system.Linvention concerne entre autres un procédé pour la production dimpulsions laser ayant des caractéristiques prédéfinies damplitude, de phase et/ou de polarisation à une extrémité distale dun système de transmission optique qui comprend au moins une fibre optique. Le procédé comprend les étapes suivantes : produire des impulsions laser et injecter les impulsions laser dans un formateur dimpulsions calculer un signal de commande destiné à commander le formateur dimpulsions, au moins un paramètre physique de la fibre optique étant pris en compte appliquer le signal de commande au formateur dimpulsions et moduler lamplitude, la phase et/ou la polarisation des impulsions laser, ce qui forme des impulsions laser modulées et injecter les impulsions laser modulées dans une extrémité proximale du système de transmission optique.
