A method of selecting a treatment regimen for a subject diagnosed with a cancer is provided. The method comprising, determining in cancer cells of said subject, CXCR4 occupancy in a presence and an absence of a peptide having an amino acid sequence as set forth in SEQ ID NO: 1 or an analog or derivative thereof, wherein an increase above a predetermined threshold in said CXCR4 occupancy in said presence of said peptide as compared to said absence of said peptide is indicative of suitability of said subject to treatment with said peptide, or analog or derivative.L'invention concerne un procédé de sélection d'un schéma thérapeutique pour un sujet chez lequel a été diagnostiqué un cancer. Le procédé consiste à déterminer dans des cellules cancéreuses dudit sujet, l'occupation des récepteurs CXCR4 en présence et en l'absence d'un peptide présentant une séquence d'acides aminés telle que définie dans SEQ ID NO : 1 ou d'un analogue ou d'un dérivé de celui-ci, une augmentation au-dessus d'un seuil prédéterminé de ladite occupation des récepteurs CXCR4 en présence dudit peptide par rapport à ce qui est observé en l'absence dudit peptide révélant qu'un traitement à l'aide dudit peptide, analogue ou dérivé est adapté audit sujet.
