An orthopedic implant device configured for chronic implant in a patient includes at least one implant hardware structure configured to be associated with a bony structure of the patient, and one or more components of an active implantable medical device. The active implantable medical device may be configured to generate a therapeutic output signal, such as a radio frequency (RF) therapy signal, and to deliver the signal to neural tissue of the patient. Components of the active implantable medical device may be included in a housing configured to be associated with the orthopedic implant device through attachment to a piece of implant hardware, or engagement with a passageway through the orthopedic implant device. Components of the active implantable medical device may also be incorporated and integrated into an implant hardware structure of the orthopedic implant device.
