PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a supporting device usable for a narrow staircase.SOLUTION: A supporting assembly includes a staircase with treads having tread nosings, and a supporting device with a rail mounted at one side of the staircase. The supporting device includes: a carriage movable along the rail a carriage drive part for moving the carriage along the rail between the upper part of the staircase and the lower part of the staircase a support bracket mounted on the carriage to support a person walking on the staircase and a control system for controlling the supporting device.
