Exemplary embodiments of the present disclosure are directed towards herbal formulations comprising at least one of Alocasia macrorrhiza, Merremia quinquefolia, Tylophora indica, Smilax glabra and Allium sativum for treating cancer and other illnesses. The herbal formulation is prepared directly out of dried plant parts or is an extract prepared using suitable solvents and standard extraction procedures. The herbal formulation is also prepared out of the active ingredient isolated from the extracts.
