To provide particles having excellent anisotropic properties caused by covering the surfaces of the particles of a base powder with a hydrophobic material so as to be compactly covered at local positions and to provide a method for efficiently producing the anisotropic particles.

SOLUTION: The anisotropic particles are prepared by compactly covering the surfaces of the particles of the base powder at the local positions with the hydrophobic material. The anisotropic particles are prepared by a method of mixing and stirring a nonaqueous solvent phase with a material exhibiting the hydrophobicity and chemically bonding with the base powder by a condensation reaction and subsequently adding an aqueous phase in which the base powder is dispersed to cause the condensation reaction of the material exhibiting the hydrophobicity at the interface of the nonaqueous solvent phase and the water phase and to chemically bond the base powder therewith.
