PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable easy specifying of right contours by automatically rectifying according to the hope of a user the contours automatically extracted about an examination object.SOLUTION: An image analysis section 29 extracts the contour of the surface about the examination object based on a medical image showing the form of the examination object within a subject. The image analysis section 29 measures thickness between the two contours as a characteristic value about the extracted contour.
