The invention relates to chemical compounds, or pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof of the formula (I):which penetrate the blood brain barrier, inhibit the formation and accumulation of beta-amyloid, and are useful in the treatment of neurodegenerative diseases, particularly Alzheimers disease.
