PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide: Brachyury expressed in human tumors, specifically in tumors of the small intestine, stomach, kidney, bladder, uterus, ovary, and testes, as well as in lung, colon and prostate carcinomas; immunogenic Brachyury polypeptides; diagnostic assays for Brachyury expression using the polypeptides; and methods for inducing an immune response to Brachyury.SOLUTION: The invention provides isolated immunogenic Brachyury polypeptides consisting of a sequence of at most 12 consecutive specific amino acids, polynucleotides encoding the polypeptides, vectors including the polynucleotides, and host cells transformed with the vectors.
