PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To generate and display a tomogram image of high resolution without degrading a frame rate.SOLUTION: A transmission-side focus position is changed per frames according to a focus position set including the ordered and predefined plurality of transmission-side focus position of an ultrasonic beam to be transmitted into a biological body, and the change of the transmission-side focus position is cycled per said predefined plurality of focus positions so as to repeat scanning of the ultrasonic beam into the subject. In chronological frame images generated based on received signal, a frame-synthesis of the chronologically-aligned plurality of frame images is repeated.
