PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method exhibiting an excellent effect on the control of pests in a cultivation area of field crops.SOLUTION: The method for controlling pests in a cultivation area of field crops includes (1) a step of treating seeds of field crops with one or more kinds of compounds selected from compound group A, (2) a step of treating the cultivation area of field crops with ethyl[3-[2-chloro-4-fluoro-5-(1-methyl-6-trifluoromethyl-2,4-dioxo-1,2,3,4-tetrahydropyrimidine-3-yl)phenoxy]-2-pyridyloxy]acetate before the dissemination of the seeds of field crops produced in the previous step, during the dissemination thereof and/or after the dissemination thereof and (3) a step of treating stems and leaves of field crops with one or more kinds of compounds selected from compound group B during the growth period of field crops.
