A method of determining exposure of an occupant (8) to equivalent melanopic lux, EML, in an environment (2) comprising one or more indoor spaces and zero or more outdoor spaces, wherein the environment comprises one or more illumination devices (4, 5) wherein said one or more illumination devices (4, 5) comprise one or more luminaires (4) illuminating the environment with artificial illumination.
