Die vorliegende Erfindung betrifft eine Substanz auf Hopfenbasis, welche ein Gemisch von (a) Xanthohumol mit der Formel (I) sowie (b) mindestens einer isomerisierten Hopfensäure, vorzugsweise Iso-alpha-Säure jeweils in angereicherter oder isolierter Form umfasst. Es hat sich überraschend gezeigt, dass eine Substanz, bei der Xanthohumol sowie Iso-alpha-Säure in Kombination sowie jede Substanz jeweils in angereicherter oder isolierter Form in der Kombination vorliegend, die Wirksamkeit in Zusammenhang mit der Vorbeugung und/oder Bekämpfung von Lebererkrankungen bzw. Leberschädigungen im Vergleich zu Xanthohumol allein beträchtlich steigert. Die entzündungshemmende, Fibrosierungs-hemmende Wirkung von Xanthohumol sowie die Hemmung auf die Verfettung von Leberzellen wird somit durch das Vorhandensein von Iso-alpha-Säure überraschend erhöht.The invention relates to a hops-based substance which comprises a mixture of (a) xanthohumol of the formula (I) and (b) at least one isomerized hops acid, preferably iso-alpha acid, in each case in an enriched or isolated form.
